  • Alternative Fuel Vehicles Instructor

The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire an automotive Alternative Fuel Vehicles Instructor at the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC). The position is the primary instructor for the NAFTC training conducted at the National Alternative Fuels Training Laboratory, and will be the primary contact for alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicle technical information. Responsibilities require knowledge of automotive AFVs/advanced technology vehicles; adult education curriculum and training; effective oral and written communication, and presentation skills. National travel is required and international travel is possible. Requirements: bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology field, 4 years experience in automotive alternative fuel technologies, and 2 years experience training automotive technicians. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. A valid driver’s license is required. The following licenses must be obtained within the first six months of employment: Master Automotive Certified (ASE A1 through A8); ASE L1 – Advanced Engine Performance Specialist Test; and ASE F1 – Light Vehicles-Compressed Natural Gas.

  • Assistant Director – Training & Curriculum Development

The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire an Assistant Director – Training & Curriculum Development to provide the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) leadership in developing alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicle curricula and training programs. This position leads curriculum development and training coordination as well as collaboration with the National Training Centers of the NAFTC, NRCCE, WVU, industry trade organizations and other organizations. Requires proven project management, presentation, interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills; solid coaching and mentoring skills that are constructive and motivational; and demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects that require collaboration. A bachelor’s degree in a related field of study; three to five years of experience in the field of training including course design, development and adult education/learning styles; five to ten years experience managing multiple level professional personnel; experience preparing and overseeing operational budgets; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver’s license is also required. Preference for experience with alternative fuel/advanced technology vehicle training and/or knowledge of desktop publishing.

  • Communications Specialist (NAFTC222)

The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire a Communications Specialist to support the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC). The position provides support in development, coordination, and quality control of NAFTC publications and promotional materials, curriculum, and other training materials to ensure all are accurate and consistent with NAFTC goals and policies. This position is also significant to NAFTC relationships, grant writing support, and other tasks/projects. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a communications-related field, such as journalism, English or communications; and three years related experience in publications management; managing the development, review and production of a technical publication including writing, editing, and interviewing persons for newsletter articles; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference given for writing experience in an automotive, educational, environmental, engineering or government area; and/or technical writing experience about alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles and training.

  • Project Manager (NAFTC219)

The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire a Project Manager to work in the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) at West Virginia University. The primary role of the positions will be to manage all aspects of the day-to-day operational needs of multiple NAFTC projects; create and execute project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements; and identify resources needed for projects and recommend solutions. Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, program/public administration, or related field; three to five years of successful project development and management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference for experience with Microsoft Project software.

  • Odyssey Coordinator (NAFTC220)

The WVU Research Corporation seeks to hire a public relations/event specialist to serve as the Odyssey Coordinator for the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) at West Virginia University. The Odyssey Coordinator will be responsible to work on the NAFTC team to identify and recruit sponsors and sites for participation in National AFV Day Odyssey. The incumbent will be responsible for coordination of this large-scale event, presented at over 100 sites, and promotion to a national audience. In addition, the position assists with development of the State of West Virginia and National Kick Off events as well as preparation of the post-event analysis and executive report. A bachelor’s in public relations, communications, business administration or related; five years related experience in event development and coordination; and progressively responsible and related experience in grants writing and project management is required. Will consider an equivalent combination of education/experience. Excellent presentation, writing and telephone skills are required. Experience working with and coordination of national media coverage is advantageous. Preference for a master’s degree in a related field.

  • Odyssey Coordinator Assistant (NAFTC221)

The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire a qualified, part-time Odyssey Coordinator Assistant to support the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) by providing support in assisting with Odyssey event planning, and other NAFTC projects. This position requires an associate’s degree in communications, business, public administration; or related field; and two or more years assisting with public relations activities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a 20 hour/week position.

  • Instructional Designer (NAFTC224)

The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire a qualified Instructional Designer to support the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) and West Virginia University. This position will be responsible for designing and developing educational and instructional materials, coordinating educational content, and incorporating instructional technologies where appropriate. This position requires a master’s degree in technology education or related field; three to five years experience in designing and developing educational and instructional materials; and experience designing web applications and graphics; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference for Adobe InDesign.

  • Curriculum Developer (NAFTC217)

The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire an experienced Curriculum Developer for the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) at West Virginia University. The incumbent will develop, enhance, or revise and/or project manage the development, enhancement, or revision of curricula and other instructional materials; coordinate educational content; and incorporate current technology in specialized fields that provide guidelines to educators and instructors for conducting courses. The position is a knowledge resource relative to alternative fuel vehicle training curricula and requires a master’s degree in technology education or a related field, and five years experience in the development of curricula, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
